A word from CROTON UNITED for your consideration:
THIS IS SHAMEFUL - We
agree completely with former Trustee Maria Trunzo Slippen that the
“manipulation of data to suit political purposes ultimately harms
residents” and that the practice “is shameful.” But equally shameful is
Ms. Slippen’s attempt at blameshifting—“the act of transferring
responsibility for an error or problem.”
We don’t know whether Croton Dem Trustee Brian Pugh intentionally manipulated
Croton’s percentage of “poverty” in his recent letter to the Gazette or
if he made a simple error. We gave him the benefit of the doubt when we
asked him to correct the record.
We must have struck a nerve
because not only did Trustee Pugh ignore an opportunity to correct what
was a clear factual error, he has made outrageous accusations against us
to impugn our motives and deflect attention from his “error” . . . or
perhaps from his “manipulation of data to suit political purposes.” READ MORE HERE http://bit.ly/2gVfp1G
There is only one way to settle this debate...go to the United Way web site and read the report which can be found on Page #207 shown in the lower left hand corner of the report. This coincides with the physical report page #284. The difference of 10 is due to the fact that there are 10 pages of intro material in the front of the report. The web site can be found at http://www.unitedwayalice.org/documents/16UW%20ALICE%20Report_NY_Lowres_11.11.16.pdf (You need to use cut and paste of the link provided to access the report)
ReplyDeleteNOTE: the cover sheet of the report indicates it was published in the Fall 2016. I'm anxious to hear Mr. Pugh's explanation for refusing to correct what was a simple error to begin with. What was Trustee Pugh hiding? The truth perhaps?

I'm not surprised. It's easier to blame someone else. That's the name of the game these days.
ReplyDeleteIsn't this the same guy who said that the Gouveia construction was going to cost $12,000 and it was over $300,000? He's not good with numbers, is he.
