Croton's Thomas Burniston among the inductees: By ROCCO ARETESIAN
New York State Senator Terence Murphy, in an ongoing effort to
support those Americans who have risked their lives in war, established a
Veterans Hall of Fame. Yearly, he seeks to add new members, recognizing
their dedication to protect the United States and its citizens. This
year, 17 new members have been admitted....In a press release issued by Murphy’s office, he identified each new inductee, with the following synopses of their service:
Thomas K. Burniston (Croton-on-Hudson) – Soon after arriving in
Vietnam at the age of 18, Thomas was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze
Star for Heroism, Army Commendation for Heroism, and, after being
severely wounded, received the Purple Heart. He left the Army in 1973,
having added the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, the Combat Infantryman
Badge, the Parachutist Badge and the Vietnam Service Medal to his list
of awards. READ MORE HERE http://www.empirestatenews.net/2016/11/20/state-senator-terence-murphys-veterans-hall-of-fame-nducts-17-new-members/
