For village residents, the name Edward (Ed) Rondthaler will be forever synonymous with Croton-on-Hudson. You can read more about him here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Rondthaler
Some years ago, Rondthaler donated his scrapbooks to The Croton Historical Society. Filled with newspaper clippings, some notes and photos, they are a time capsule of village life...and as promised, Everything Croton and the trusty elves will be sharing some of these pages with you throughout 2015. Here's Part 6 in no particular order; click on the images below, FROM 1962 AND 1963. The late Harold Zabitz is also mentioned in the article 'BIG CIRCUS".
With thanks as always to the volunteers of THE CROTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY.

Can someone explain to me how it works at the duck pond? Once more we have had days where skating would be possible but nothing is happening there and the red flag is up? I don't get this. Isn't the recreation department in charge of this?????
ReplyDeleteIt seems to be hit or miss with them.
