CROTON RESIDENT JOHN GOCHMAN HAS DIED

John was born on March 16, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Harry and Jean (Steadman) Gochaman. He attended and graduated from Brooklyn College and then went on to receive his degree in law at NYU Law School. After graduating law school, John joined the United States Army and was a proud veteran. He was a practicing attorney for over 50 years at his law firm in Croton-on-Hudson, NY.  Among his many community activities he was a past president of Temple Israel of Northern Westchester in Croton, a member of the Croton Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce.  He was also the acting Police Justice for the Village of Croton, Croton Free Library Trustee and an active Boy Scout Leader for many years. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He will be deeply missed by his family and the community he served for so many years.

He is survived by his beloved wife Barbara; loving children, Benjamin (Selene) Gochman and Janet Gochman (Joshua Rabinowitz); adoring grandchildren Mateo Gochman-Moreno and Jacob and Zoe Rabinowitz. He is also survived by many nieces and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Temple Israel of Northern Westchester, 31 Glengary Rd, Croton-On-Hudson, NY 10520.
