BACK HOME FOR KEEPS...THE VINTAGE COMMUNITY SILVERPLATE ADS FROM WWII

One thing about collecting vintage magazines like we do--you start to notice patterns--especially in advertising. Community Silverplate, which produced flatware, had a series of WWII ads with a particular theme, this being "Back Home for Keeps"--the ads featured a member of the armed services locked in a passionate kiss and or cuddle with the girl he left behind.  Yes, when the war was over, you'd not only have your man but your flatware too. We've featured a few of these ads in previous postings here at EverythingCroton but have re-posted them again below for your enjoyment. Long story short: we found more of these ads throughout our 1940's magazine collection and have scanned a few of them for your viewing pleasure. Some we were able to salvage in their entirety, others not. Most are in black and white. We'll have more. Click on the photos! We've also thrown in some Hollywood leading men in uniform we've discovered in a few of the movie fan magazines: Alan Ladd, John Payne and a very green-eyed Robert Taylor.
