SOME PHOTOS FROM CROTON'S 2013 MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Just a few photos from Croton's 2013 Memorial Day remembrance at Veterans Corner. Benediction led by the Rev. Victor Harrison of Asbury United Methodist Church; program led by Patrick Calcutti. Holy Name's Knights of Columbus assisted with preparations. Prayers were requested for Pastor Anthony Stephens of Our Saviour Evangelical Lutheran Church, currently serving in Afghanistan (see http://everythingcroton.blogspot.com/2013/05/an-update-on-our-saviours-pastor.html) Click on the photos.

  1. Very nice. Dont get me wrong. It was a nice service and the young girl who sang was excellent. Still I miss the way the village celebrated this, really celebrated it, with parades in which everyone participated and other special events we just don't do any more. All our officials also treated it with the respect it deserved in terms of attire back then.

    1. Remember Pop Berger giving all the kids a coupon and after the parade you got a free ice cream?
