CONGRATULATIONS VINCENT MATERO! Brewster, N.Y. – 2/26/13 POSTED BY SENATOR GREG BALL – Over two dozen veterans from throughout the Hudson Valley were honored at Senator Greg Ball (R,C,I - Patterson) 2nd Annual Veterans’ Hall of Fame Ceremony. Among them, was Vincent A. Matero from village of Croton-On-Hudson. The Veterans’ Hall of Fame was created by Senator Ball, and designed to honor outstanding veterans throughout the 40th Senate District. Each veteran that was honored will also be individually featured on a traveling wall that will tour local municipalities throughout the 40th district… Vincent A. Matero is the Fox Ekloff Post 505 honoree for the 40th District Veterans’ Hall of Fame. Vincent A. Matero was born in Croton-On-Hudson, New York in April 1916. He served in the United States Navy for three years and three months, reaching the rank of Gunners Mate 2nd Class. During his service, Vincent A. Matero earned the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, the American Campaign Medal, and the World War II Victory Medal.

  1. An honor well deserved. BTW,thanks for the Harold Russell articles. I just saw the movie the other day on Turner Classics. What a fantastic film and what a performance.
