Some of the best and tastiest entries I have ever had! I thought it was all very good. (Croton Diner had a vegan chili I even tried and it was tasty.) This is a real village event with none of the hit you over the head politics we've seen in recent weeks. Perhaps that is why not a single elected official was in attendance.
ReplyDeleteIt is a sad commentary on our village that traditional events like the chili cookoff are ignored by Croton's elected officials. I think this was a first for the cookoff.
ReplyDeleteNot everything has to have a political angle to exploit. Sometimes as an elected official you attend events as a representative of the community... not the political party.
Thanks Paul. This is a big fundraiser for all the great charitable work the Rotary does from scholarships to giving a 3d printer to the library. I for one was not surprised by the absence of elected officials when there was no Washington tie-in for the more ambitious.
