CROTON DUCK POND, JAN. 1955

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Yes...some of us love winter and aren't the least bit sorry to see summer go--though we do love Fall! Click on the photo, courtesy of The Croton Historical Society, for a look at Croton's Duck Pond in January 1955--and recreation Superintendent William Foley preparing the surface for ice-skating...all pre-highway of course...

Speaking of the highway, don't forget that on 9/20, there's an opening reception for the historical society's latest exhibit: GET READY FOR AN EARTHQUAKE, THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW US RT. 9, THE DESTRUCTION OF CROTON LANDING; STAY TUNED

    1. Actually it was probably a shovel but it's still impressive.

  2. What are those buildings behind him? Is that where the baseball field is now?
