RE-ZONING HARMON--ELIZABETH GIBLIN LETTER

Welcome to EverythingCroton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

WITH PERMISSION TO POST: A LETTER FROM THE 3/22-28 EDITION OF THE GAZETTE BY ELIZABETH GIBLIN. And we couldn't agree more!

To the editor: "Rezoning Harmon."

I have lived in Harmon for forty-six years and am concerned with the rezoning issues. This is a well-kept area and the small shops and businesses serve my needs and those of my neighbors - most of whom live on Young, Hastings, Penfield and Benedict Boulveard. We want low lying buildings with enough parking for all - not infiltration of parked cars along our lovely tree lined streets.

My vision for Harmon is to beautify what already exists - simple flower boxes, paint, historical signs, new clock to replace historical one at the corner of Riverside and Benedict. How do we accomplish this? 1. Put pressure on New York State to clean up wire fence, litter and overhanging trees on that part of Riverside near the auto body shop. 2. Inspire village board to work with already existing businesses in the beautification process. 3. Let's "Keep it Simple."
