As many of you know, Holy Name of Mary recently refurbished the flag pole in front of the Parish Center. Today, in honor of the 10th anniversary of 9/11, the church had a special service in memory of all those who died, with a particular emphasis on first responders. Taps was played and the flag lowered to half mast. A reception was held afterwards in the Peace Garden.

Thank you everyone for making this such a beautiful, spiritually uplifting event. And to Maria as always for chronicling it all.
ReplyDeleteAs Father Brennan said today, it's amazing how many people had a hand in making this such a wonderful almost healing event. Thank you all.

Wonderful stuff. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI was so disgusted to be sent an email from a posting on a supposedly Croton site that really denigrated the day in some hippie mumbo jumbo. Then throw in an official at the cortlandt event notorious for just not knowing how to dress for memorial services. What can you say? Respect runs low in some circles.
ReplyDeleteThen I saw these photos and said next time I go to a church service instead. I do have to say it was impressive to listen to the ever respectful and always acting with dignity Supervisor Puglisi. It was also impressive when one of the speakers fainted to watch Nan Hayworth and Becker run to his aid. I like Becker, for the town. Hayworth's my pick for Congress.
Thank you!
ReplyDeleteMaria you truly outdid yourself this time. EXCELLENT photos.
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU for keeping this online.
