There's been some downright funny memes regarding AOC's "frozen eggs"---some clever, if not also annoying, new names for the Harmon area with all the planned multifamily etc. housing and planned pot shops area rezoning----some disturbing and/or also amusing commentary on the escalating Jason Arday scandal-----new vaccine stuff (that warrants a completely separate post)----and the cartoon with the wall dividing the village is allegedly being made into a Tee-shirt!

There's been some chatter about folks attending the next DEI/IDEA meeting on Friday but it's in the afternoon and work makes it impossible for most.  Leaving that for others to navigate....

8/11/2026 UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — A Rome man learned his fate on federal child pornography charges in July, the US Department of Justice announced on Tuesday.

United States Attorney John Sarcone announced on Tuesday, August 11 that 46-year-old John Secor of Rome was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison on Tuesday, July 21. Yesterday, the British Office of Communications (Ofcom) issued its report on an incident in May that was not covered very thoroughly in the former Colonies across the pond. The U.K. radio station Radio Caroline had aired three pre-recorded statements during “The Barry Marsh Show” announcing that King Charles had died. He hadn’t died. Nevertheless, the third statement said “news media” had confirmed that the King was dead. “God Save the King” was then played, the announcement was repeated, and there were 16 minutes of dead air.
