RESIDENTS OVERWHELMINGLY OPPOSED! SUMMARY OF PUBLIC HEARING COMMENTARY DEER BOW HUNTING LAW

-Residents overwhelmingly opposed or had serious reservations in the very least.
-Fran Allen raised issue with the deed for the arboretum and whether this is even allowed. This will be looked at further.
-Over and over again residents expressed dismay that the board's actions to date and providing only "EXPERTS" for one side on the issue (in favor of the hunting) looked like the law was a "done deal".
-The hearing ended at roughly 11:00 p.m.
-The board just voted to neg dec this. It is important to note that this law has NOT
been passed. Rather there are steps to be followed IF it is passed eventually. One of those steps is to now send the SEQRA documents to the WAC for their comments. Trustee Schmidt had that clarification made for the record.

Again the law to bow hunt has NOT been passed. Yet.

--Also significant legal liability and other legal issues raised.
