Sightings out at the Point were often common--strange lights were the main culprit---some folks theorized this was merely illegal midnight dumping at the landfill--and nothing much came of all the occasional hoopla in the end.
For a time, however, someone who went by the pen-name of "DJPS Kittens"--and fancied himself the author of the next CHARIOT OF THE GODS or some other Great American novel--tried in vain to get the Starlight Drive-In to feature the work of Reinhold O. Schmidt (click on the image from 1961/1962).
