An illegal immigrant who was one of Canada's most wanted fugitives was arrested last week in Mississippi, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced Tuesday.
Adrian Vincent Walker, 28, who was among the top 25 most wanted international fugitives in Canada, is accused of first-degree murder. "Thanks to the brave men and women of ICE, one of Canada’s most wanted criminals is behind bars. This individual was wanted for a murder in Canada," said Acting DHS Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis. "He is now facing charges for illegal entry into the U.S. and illegal possession of a firearm." WSJ: "KINGS OF DARK MONEY"
From the Journal long running “Best of the Web” email feature. For the complete story hit the link at the bottom.
Jonathan Alpert makes a good case that “No Kings” events are bad group therapy for the highly credentialed. So who’s paying for these destructive therapy sessions? Former Wall Street Journal reporter Asra Nomani reported Saturday for Fox News:
A network of about 500 groups with an estimated $3 billion in combined annual revenues is behind the coordinated nationwide “No Kings” protest Saturday, including communist groups who are using the day to call for a “revolution,” according to a Fox Digital News investigation.
According to a copy of the permit for the “flagship” march in St. Paul, Minn., Indivisible, a national well-heeled Democratic political advocacy organization funded by billionaire George Soros, is the lead coordinator for the protest.
But Fox News Digital has also identified key participation by a network of radical socialist and communist organizations funded by Neville Roy Singham, an American tech tycoon and avowed communist living in China. MORE AT WSJ: “Kings of Dark Money” – Tom Faranda's Folly

VILLAGE & TOWN OF CORTLANDT ID CARD POLICY
Yet again, getting trolled relentlessly about the "unfairness"--inequity---whatever---that village AND town-issued id cards are needed in order to use certain amenities. Sorry, but these are mandatory....please direct your comments---and complaints--about these id's to the appropriate officials. You are quite simply wasting your breath here. Many of us don't have a problem with ids for this---and many other issues......
It's really not open for debate here.

KAROLINE LEAVITT BLASTS MINIMAL MEDIA COVERAGE OF SHERIDAN GORMAN MURDER
Leavitt took a moment at Monday's press briefing to highlight a recent study from the Media Research Center showing CBS News dedicating two minutes and one second of coverage towards Gorman's murder while ABC News spent just one minute and 19 seconds and NBC News spent just 23 seconds total......."I think her life was worth more than 23 seconds on cable television," Leavitt said. "And I think the people in this room have a responsibility to report on cases like this because it just exemplifies why the president believes so strongly in deporting illegal aliens from our communities." --And now the history of CANDY BUTTONS ALSO KNOWN AS CANDY DOTS (oh we loved these as kids)---go to Candy Buttons - Wikipedia
--A reader has many fond memories of THOSE SYRUPY FILLED WAX BOTTLES TOO, also known as NIK-L-NIPS! Their history is tied to the development of paraffin wax, a byproduct of the petroleum industry. Paraffin wax became popular for creating novelty candies due to its smooth texture and malleability. READ MORE ABOUT THEM AT The Sweet Nostalgia of Wax Bottle Candy: A Sip of Childhood - Redstone Foods Candy Soda Blog--NEXT UP, we just love the COLLECTING CANDY site.
And of course there was a time when Brach's Chocolates were king! Check out the 1972 BRACH'S EASTER CHOCOLATE CATALOG PAGES FROM COLLECTING CANDY HERE.
But by far our fave from COLLECTING CANDY...A MORE MODERN TAKE ON THE PROVERBIAL EASTER JELLY BEAN......

--And finally, it would not be Easter without the...PEEPS!
Peeps are produced by Just Born, a candy manufacturer founded in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, by Russian immigrant Sam Born (1891-1959). In 1953, Just Born acquired the Rodda Candy Company and its marshmallow chick line, and replaced the painstaking process of hand-forming the chicks with mass production.....READ MORE ABOUT THEIR FASCINATING HISTORY HERE.
