The mayor of the Croton-on-Hudson town in New York has ordered that a disabled Vietnam veteran who has lived in the Village of Croton-on-Hudson community for 67 years has to take down his Trump flag because it does not comply with the community's "content-neutral code." The flag is on the man's property, and he has argued that the action goes against his First Amendment rights. ReplyDeleteThis is the same mayor who flew the pride flag higher than the American Flag on July 4 2023, which was a violation of the US Flag code, and was quite offensive. This is also the same village which in 2020 banned all political signs from public right of ways because we couldn't figure out a legal way to ban just the non Democrat signs. Also the same village that in 2021 tried to ban back the blue and redline flags because we all had BLM fever back then and perceived any expression of support for uniformed service as racist. So much for the appearance of content neutral enforcement of the law. For my friends anything for my enemies the law. Why does this always seem to happen the year before or after a closely contested election. Hmmmm.
