1973 MILITARY MUSTER AT VAN CORTLANDT MANOR AND THIS YEAR'S JULY 4TH REVOLUTIONARY HISTORY RE-ENACTMENT

With the news that there will be Revolutionary History Re-enactment Showcase on Friday, July 4th at 10 am at Van Cortlandt Manor, the blog has had a request for past military musters at the site. Click on the photos below for the 1973 military muster. There will be more.

For info about this year's event, see the following: There will be a Revolutionary History Re-enactment Showcase. Costumed presenters will portray soldiers from the 1st Rhode Island Regiment and 2nd New York Regiment, highlighting pivotal Revolutionary War battles, including the role of pioneering Black soldiers. Village Historian Marc Cheshire will give brief remarks on the military service of Pierre and Philip Van Cortlandt before the re-enactment begins. The presentation will last approximately two hours.The event will feature a musket firing demonstration and conclude with an audience Q&A. Free and open to the public.
