THE CROTON CHRONICLE Update September 10: After this story was published, both the Chronicle and Jean Avolio became the subject of criticism and attacks for allegedly endangering the children at CET by discussing the security issues involving door locks that did not work. But in actual fact, the district administration had been aware of the malfunctioning locks since at least August 27 and had done nothing about it—in other words, for nearly three weeks before Avolio issued her email to district staff.
