HRECOS Launches New and Improved Website
Teagan Russell, Water Quality Monitoring Intern at the Hudson River National Estuarine Research Reserve, shares how HRECOS is bringing real-time data from the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers to users throughout the estuary watershed.
The Hudson River Environmental Conditions Observing System (HRECOS) collects high-frequency water quality and weather data through a network of 15 stations along the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers. The HRECOS team is excited to announce a newly redesigned website! The revamped website will make HRECOS data more accessible, interactive, and functional for all users. Whether you’re an educator, researcher, angler, or paddler – HRECOS is your eyes on the Hudson.
The website hosts a new dashboard that displays real-time environmental data from HRECOS stations. Website users are now able to select specific stations and water quality parameters (e.g., water temperature), then automatically view the data graphed over a three-day period.
Historic and long-term data are also available through the new data request portal on the HRECOS website.
These updates are the first steps in the HRECOS website remodel, making live river conditions and historic data easier to access. The HRECOS team will continue to improve the network and expand its use by all those who study, work, or recreate on the Hudson River.
