Some weeks are more successful than others at the Peekskill Flea market--and last Sunday was one of the best. Not only did we find lots of old catalogs, vintage movie magazines, and Christmas kitsch, but we nearly jumped for joy when we found this framed reproduction of a very young Billie Burke.
For those who don't know, Burke was an American actress, famous on Broadway and in early silent film, but is primarily known to modern audiences as Glinda the Good Witch of the North in the movie musical The Wizard of Oz.
She was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance as Emily Kilbourne in Merrily We Live and is also remembered for her appearances in the Topper series.
She followed by two putz houses we are constantly drawn back to--by Karl Fey and Howard Lamey.
And finally, we just had to share this amazing collection of vintage Santas from our friend Howard Murray--perfectly arranged! Click on the photos.
