This is a dangerous and disruptive event for huge amounts of people. Our volunteer fireman have said so, our EMS guy has said so and aside froma handful of rabid supporters of the mayor who loves this thing, it is not liked, period end of story. One group who volunteered one year for a donation to their village cause got a lousy fifty bucks for a lot of hours. We were told donations would be made to the memorial for 9-11. Wonder how much that was for all the aggravation we all have to endure.

There are some officials who say it puts the villqge on the map. Really? I can tell you right now that when peopleoutside of Croton learn it is Croton that does this every year to them, they don’t think very highly of us. I’d rather not be on the map for garbage, chicken coops on Gouveia and back room deals, or this event that caters to a small group compared to the tens of thousands across the county it screws with.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07057470089095935394noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-787750143375798683.post-63446246350732558142014-08-26T17:24:09.881-04:002014-08-26T17:24:09.881-04:00I remember leaving for work in Tarrytown 2 hours e...I remember leaving for work in Tarrytown 2 hours early in otder to drive to Mt. Last year, I don't recall Croton being flooded with a bunch of Toughman participants who were itching to spend money in our town after wearing themselves out in the race. I DO recall sitting in Grouchy Gabe's and talking with a bunch of people who were all trying to figure out how they were going to get around town that day. I DO recall being stressed out about how I was going to get to church in Ossining. And I DO recall sitting in traffic to get in and out of ShopRite.
If the town really wants to make money off of the Toughman, make deals with our local businesses and give out coupons to Toughman participants so that they actually walk into our stores and restaurants and buy something. No surprise to me that their words fell on deaf ears...and look at all the trouble Mr. Reikert went through. It seems to me these days that the persons who make very critical decisions for health, safety and well being of the resident are JUST A BUNCH OF KNUCKLEHEADS. We need, and have not had for years, people who make good choices and decisions. I look forward to the local elections in Croton and I sure hope that everyone Who see the LIGHT, spreads the word, opens up eyes and minds and get their friends to stop pushing levers Start the campaign today to elect Croton United. We do our food shopping on Sundays normally at Shoprite but get out of Dodge for the day and get it done at the Cortlandt Town Center supermarket instead. These people live in a dreamland. If this is such a great thing, they can hold it in his hometown of Rye. The fact that they don't says a lot about them and a lot about us. Please get the supporting documentation. Last year it was a ghost town in Croton. Everyone was eating barbecue at the point.peterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12629732679057306299noreply@blogger.com
