FROM THE MAILBOX--1980 ANGEL ON MY SHOULDER--PETER STRAUSS

A reader says his sister couldn't think of a single comedic role Peter Strauss ever played.....(Strauss, as many of you know, got his start with the Croton Shakespeare festival).....but the reader remembers seeing something---and just can't remember the details.

Response: While admittedly rare, Strauss did indeed try a turn at comedy in the 1980 remake of ANGEL ON MY SHOULDER. (CLICK ON THE IMAGE.)

The original film from 1946--about a deal between the Devil and a dead man--was directed by Archie Mayo--and starred Paul Muni, Anne Baxter and Claude Rains.
