We LOVE being sent old photos of Christmas trees with putz villages; if you've ever viewed the Cora Baitler collection, circa 1950's, it's easy to understand why (see https://www.flickr.com/photos/22283683@N07/sets/72157627723865005/)
Today, an oldie but goodie--worth a second look--courtesy of LOC, we bring you the Hanck Christmas tree; the photo is
believed to be somewhere between 1915 and 1930. Because we had a high
resolution copy, we've been able to slice and dice it into close-ups.
Note the hand-made ornaments in addition to store bought, including
dresdens and crepe paper "dolls". Click on the photos. Enjoy!
