BEWARE THE GIANT HOGWEED

At Everything Croton, we always make it a point to talk about THE VERY DANGEROUS PLANT KNOWN AS HOGWEED in the months of May and June -- which is typically the time in which these plants reach their amazing size of 10 to 15 feet (click on the public domain photo).

For those who don't know, HOGWEED can cause massive and painful blistering if any of the juice/sap makes skin contact. It should never be removed by a homeowner but by a professional only. Suspected sightings should be reported to the NYSDEC immediately. DO NOT TOUCH THIS PLANT! http://www.dec.ny.gov/animals/39809.html

You can see the plant in various growth stages here http://www.dec.ny.gov/animals/72766.html

You can see a map of confirmed 2017 sites where it has been ELIMINATED here http://www.dec.ny.gov/animals/80427.html

BE SAFE OUT THERE!
