Who died this date in 1984. Long before the world came to know Jackie Coogan as Uncle Fester in the 1960's television show THE ADDAMS FAMILY, Coogan was a child star in silent films.

Coogan successfully sued his parents--who squandered his income, provoking California to enact the first known legal protection for the earnings of child performers, widely known as the Coogan Act.
