    1. Sadly the model doesn't work very well in most places unless it is accompanied by capuccino :)

      Croton had a wonderful book store in the Upper Village about 8 or 9 years ago in what would become the toy section of Wondrous Things and later, Orangeberry--frozen yogurt and more--currently in that location. The owner related how village residents wanted a place where they were served "tea and crumpets" in addition to buying a book and many resented when, being a small business, he had to special order certain books instead of being able to provide instant gratification.

      At the moment, THE OLD BOOK ROOM at Cornelia Cotton's provides a small selection of books; what it lacks in quantity, it makes up in interesting and seldom seen stock.
