MORE FABULOUS VINTAGE WEBSITES, FINDS, ETC. FROM EVERYTHING CROTON

And so we spent a great afternoon drinking wine and going through the vintage magazine stash....two fab finds.

A marvelous print ad for IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, meant to entice theater-owners into exhibiting the film, 1947. We love "Bedford Falls".

It's followed by a 1943 ad for the Disney/Donald Duck cartoon "Der Fuhrer's Face" also known as A Nightmare in Nutziland.

FROM WIKIPEDIA: The cartoon, which features Donald Duck in a nightmare setting working at a factory in Nazi Germany, was made in an effort to sell war bonds. It's well known for the original song "Der Fuehrer's Face".  You can read more about it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Der_Fuehrer%27s_Face

We tend to forget that Christmas lights were made in many different places--at least for a while. Check out these made in Italy "lanterns" https://www.flickr.com/photos/48144295@N08/10715712156/

1960's, made in Japan, "Starflower" Christmas lights https://www.flickr.com/photos/48144295@N08/15813230316/in/set-72157629495294335

Some time ago Connie H. turned us on to an incredible realist painter--in pastels--by the name of Tom Sierak. He really is quite amazing. Check him out at http://www.tomsierak.com/index.html
