MORE FABULOUS VINTAGE WEBSITES, FINDS, ETC. FROM EVERYTHING CROTON

Just HAD to share this outstanding autographed promo ad (1946) for  Humphrey Bogart. Only Bogart (and possibly George Raft) could get away with this pinstripe suit! Thanks Mary!

Moving along...Bogie is followed by a poster for  the 1964 "classic"--hahahahahahha--SANTA CLAUS CONQUERS THE MARTIANS! This film is regularly up there as one of the worst films ever made, Christmas or otherwise. Courtesy of Wikipedia.

Your editor and her cousins were taken to see this at the Loews Paradise on the Grand Concourse in the Bronx--a beautiful old theater that deserved so much better! And yes, we thought it was terrible way back then! There's a vivid recollection of ushers running down the aisle to stop some boys from throwing popcorn and worse at the screen. Click on the photos.

Just had to look at this video again--It's Barb's Christmas village window at the hardware store https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K0mUfw-9OH4

What a great Christmas tin--in the shape of a truck--it's new but who cares--it also has putzing possibilities! https://www.flickr.com/photos/27697220@N02/15896304420/

The local Catholic Church, Holy Name of Mary, has a wonderful Italian interior nativity (figures are quite large) that's really quite special; have yet to find out the maker but believe it's a Fontinini; here are some photos https://www.flickr.com/photos/22283683@N07/sets/72157628466932245/

Yippee! It's here: WELCOME to the December, 2014 update of Trains-N-Towns(tm), the Official Newsletter of  BIGIndoorTrains.com

  1. I remember that movie. It was awful. Pia Zadora was in it. Bad beyond belief.

  2. Bogart was very handsome in his own way. Swoon.
