MORE FABULOUS VINTAGE WEBSITES, FINDS, ETC. FROM EVERYTHING CROTON

It's always fun to find things you didn't even know you had--that's one of the great things about free time and collecting vintage magazines--the joy of discovery. To the right, a 1947 promotional ad for THE BISHOP'S WIFE--and a command performance in England--this film, while now a classic Christmas staple, didn't have the most auspicious start as many of you know-and RKO did some aggressive marketing. You can read more about that here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bishop%27s_Wife

The ad is followed by one of our favorite scenes from Antoinette Stockenberg's 2014 vintage made in Japan Christmas putz mantle. See and read more here--we can't help ourselves--we just keep going back for more http://antoinettestockenberg.com/Putz2014.htm

  1. Neat find on the Bishop's Wife. They were all so good in this movie. Monty Wooley and Gladys Cooper were really a nice addition to the cast.
