  1. Thank you for posting this every year. My grandfather arrived in Pearl Harbor shortly after the bombing and was assigned to a detachment on "clean up". He didn't speak very often about it but said he had seen "terrible things no man should ever see" and that for years he had nightmares, but that people did what they had to do and complained very little. It was a different time.
