MORE FABULOUS VINTAGE WEBSITES, FINDS, ETC. FROM EVERYTHING CROTON

We couldn't forget that one of our all time favorite actors--Victor Mature--died on August 4, 1999. Here he is as Sampson opposite the stunning Hedy Lamarr. Click on the photo.

It seems that every year fewer and fewer Christmas movies are played on television. We solved that problem years ago by collecting our own--courtesy of Family Christmas Online, a list of movies you may enjoy:

  1. Victor Mature's "Samson" included a very young Angela Lansbury as the "other woman." For some reason one of my strongest memories of the movie is the movies cutting to her looking anxious as Samson is battling the lion. Then more lion-fighting. Then cutting back to her looking more anxious. More lion fighting. More Angela Lansbury looking even more anxious. Actually, I don't know which was least convincing - the lion fighting or the anxious looks, but they are both great fun to watch today.
